The MMES PTA, in partnership with arts to ALL, is offering 3rd – 5th graders a unique after-school experience that culminates in a production for the entire Mary Munford student body, teachers, staff, family and friends.
Under the direction of "Arts to ALL," participants will lead the process from beginning to end by creating characters, brainstorming ideas, collaborating as an ensemble to help shape those ideas, and even help with the writing process.
Dates: Rehearsals will be held Thursdays and select Tuesdays from January 9 - May 1.
Performance: Friday, May 2
Cost: $300/student, paid in installments*
Open to 3-5th graders.
Space is limited, so be sure to sign your little thespian up, stat, for this unforgettable theatrical experience.
Direction of the musical will be run by arts to ALL, which is a theatre arts organization in Richmond that specializes in bringing high-quality theatre arts programming to students, wherever they may be. The process focuses not only on creating a fantastic product, but on creative play as well as social and emotional learning. arts to ALL is also currently running in-school programming for our third graders here and at multiple schools and community organizations throughout Richmond. A small portion of the cost of this programming will also go to help fund similar programming in underfunded schools and community centers in the Richmond area.
*The $300 reflects a discount of $168/student that the PTA is covering. Scholarships for partial tuition are also available. Please contact Ms. Gordon at rgordon@rvaschools.net to discuss.
Rehearsals will be held Thursdays, January 9, 2025 - May 1, 2025 (with additional rehearsals the week prior to the performances.)
