Munford Wellness

It is always time to focus on healthy diet and fitness!  Take a look at some of these great sites to help make you healthy!  There are some great ideas for kids lunches, fitness, and sleep.

Healthy Lunchboxes

Check out Pinterest if you’re looking for ideas. Images speak volumes!
A winner article, 27 School Lunch Tips That Will Keep You Sane includes lots of resources and pictures with some great, simple, DIY and affordable ideas. Rubber band your kids apples? Who’d have thought?
Remember to hydrate!
Watch out for added sugar, especially in drinks.  The World Health Organization has recently reduced the recommended limit of added sugars to 10% of a person’s daily caloric intake - about 15-20 grams per day for a kid. I, for one, would like that sugar in the form of chocolate - not juice or a sports drink.

Active RVA and Fitness

Discover The Forest has a park locator by activity-type and lots of cool information about our area’s parks and ecosystems.
RVAontheCheap lists the major parks and fun places in the Richmond area.
ActiveRVA lists all the major kids sporting events for the year.

Mary Munford Alumni

Munford graduates and families, we want to keep in touch!  We won't bother you very often, but we will let you know about opportunities for your student to get volunteer hours by helping his/her alma mater, and if you choose, we'll keep you informed about a couple other events throughout the year.  Even if you'd like to opt out of all communication from Mary Munford, let us know where your student is headed in the fall because we'd love to follow our graduates' successes and connect future Munford graduates to potential fellow classmates.  Please complete this survey if you are a Munford graduate or have a Munford graduate (or more than one), and forward to other Mary Munford alumni/alumnae (no matter when they graduated) to help us update our database.
