The Mary Munford PTA’s Community of Caring (COC) is dedicated to supporting Munford students, their families, and the broader Richmond Public Schools (RPS) community. We also help connect local human service organizations with the resources our school can provide.
Partnerships & Ongoing Support
- Center for Families in Transition (RPS): A long‑standing partner, this program supports students and families across RPS who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Through this connection, COC coordinates sponsorships and organizes food, clothing, and donation drives throughout the year.
- School Staff Collaboration: COC works closely with the guidance counselor and other staff to identify needs within the Munford community that can be met through COC or broader PTA support.
- Belmont Community Resource Services: One of our key partners, providing vital resources to families in need. Learn more at Belmont Community Resource Services.
Community Projects
In addition to ongoing support, COC has helped fund and organize larger, one‑time projects, including:
- A new covered bike rack at Albert Hill Middle School
- Special education classroom supplies at Blackwell Preschool and Maymont Preschool
- Additional community initiatives as needs arise
