Where can I find "Class & Group" in the PTBoard app?

The PTBoard app does not have "Class & Group" lists. To see class assignments, you must use a browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. Go to marymunford.ptboard.com.


How do I know which class my child is in?

If you click on the link to "Class & Group" and see the full list of teachers, your student’s teacher should be the only one with a clickable link. Be sure to click on the name of the class, NOT the "JOIN/UNJOIN" button in the column to the right. If you do hit the "UNJOIN" button, please email nan.semmelman@gmail.com to request to be added back in.


The email I use to log into PTBoard doesn't show my child as a student at Mary Munford.

PTBoard uses parent email addresses to connect students (for whom parent emails are provided by RPS) to the parent PTBoard account (for which parents may be using a different email address to login than the one originally provided to RPS). This year, we cross-checked the RPS-provided data with last year’s directory listings to try to update as much incorrect RPS data as possible, but we weren’t always able to discern which email address to use. As you contact us, we’ll add you to the correct class, but you may want to update your information with RPS to avoid this issue in the future.


I'm new to Mary Munford this year. How do I log into PTBoard?

If you are new to Munford and/or PTBoard, you should have received an invitation email to join PTBoard. To join, click on the menu in the upper right corner, and select “Sign Up” and then request to be connected to Mary Munford.

 

MARY MUNFORD BELL SCHEDULE -- 7:45 am - 2:45 pm

Day one, student go directly to classrooms.  After day one, students go to breakfast or the auditorium until the 7:45 Bell.   

  • 7:35 am -- Doors Open
  • 7:45 am -- First Bell
  • 8:00 am -- Tardy Bell; Students arriving after this bell must sign in late in the school office.
  • 2:35 pm -- Carpool Dismissal
  • 2:40  pm - Walker Dismissal 
  • 2:45 pm --School Buses, YMCA and After School Program Dismissal 

ALL WALKERS AND BIKERS WILL EXIT THE DOUBLE DOORS ON THE COMMONWEALTH AVE. SIDE OF BUILDING NEAR DECK/BIKE RACKS.  

NOTE: Students may NOT arrive before 7:35 am unless participating in an organized before school activity.


REPORTING SCHOOL ABSENCES

This must be done for each day missed, but may be done in advance.

 

Early Dismissal:  If you will be picking up your child early from school, please send a note or email the teacher.  There may be times during the day when children are out on the playground for PE or recess and teachers cannot sent children back into the school.   If we know you are coming, we can have the child waiting in the office.


MORNING INTAKE

CARPOOL 
Carpool drop off is along southbound Commonwealth Ave, next to the pavilion. Please approach from Grove Avenue. We will have staff members on duty from 7:30 – 7:55 am. Please DO NOT get out of your car. Please DO NOT drop your child off on the northbound side of Commonwealth Ave.  

WALKERS
All walkers and bikers (with or without parents) should enter through the double doors on the Commonwealth Ave. side of the building near the deck/bicycle racks.  

Students who are crossing Grove Avenue should cross at Commonwealth and Grove where we have a crossing guard (using the crosswalk) or at the light at Westmoreland following the crossing signals. 

BIKE RIDERS
Bike racks are located behind the school on the Commonwealth Ave. side of the building near the playground. Students who ride bikes to school should enter through the double doors next to the deck/bike racks.

Students should be at stops 10 minutes before the designated pick up time in the morning. School buses will have assigned seats and reduced capacity this year. Students will dropped off in our bus loop along Grove Avenue.  


AFTERNOON DISMISSAL

Carpool will be dismissed at 2:35 from the Commonwealth Ave. side of the building. 

  • Pull your vehicle all the way to the pavilion 
  • Place a large sign with the names of the children you are picking up where our carpool staff can see it. 
  • Students will be dismissed to the carpool area at 2:35 pm. 

WALKERS & BIKE RIDERS
Walkers and bike riders will be dismissed at 2:40 and exit via the double doors next to playground deck/bike racks on the Commonwealth Ave side of the building. Students unaccompanied by a parent or guardian are expected to go directly home when they are dismissed from school.

The following is a list of one-time fees that will be collected for each student for the 2024-2025 school year. These fees cover the cost of school supplies for your student(s) for the entire year and supplement other program and activity costs. This ensures that all children have the same materials and that there is consistency in the quality of the school supplies. Teachers will purchase supplies (in bulk) and all supplies needed for class will be on your student's desk on the first day of school. Teachers will replace items as needed. These fees also cover the cost of classroom enrichment activities -- including classroom rewards, pizza parties, cooking activities and the cost of classroom magazines like Time for KidsNational Geographic for Kids and Story Works.

Regular school-wide communications go out via PTBoard on Tuesdays ("To-Do Tuesday") and Fridays ("Peek at Next Week"). Additional announcements are sent as needed throughout the year. If you would like a school-wide announcement to go out, please complete this Request for Announcement

Announcements are sent to parent/guardian/teacher emails via PTBoard. Current and past announcements can always be found under "Announcements" on the PTBoard website and in the PTBoard app.

Munford Brand Guide

Now that school is underway, let's make sure we have your correct contact info for the Munford Student Directory. The directory will go in the first few weeks of school.

To populate the student directory, we upload the data sent to us from RPS***. It may not be complete or correct, or it may include information you do not want included. That's why we need you to add, edit, or delete your information in the student directory before making it live for all Munford families to view.  

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:  

  1. Go to the Student Directory and select the "My Student" tab at the top of the page.
  2. Review your listing(s) and make any additions, changes, or deletions so that everything is accurate when the directory goes live.
  3. If you do not see any information listed on the "My Student" tab, please ADD your information by clicking the green "Add a Student" button in the upper right corner.
  4. Make sure the "Show in Directory" box is checked. 

***IMPORTANT: If the email you use to access PTBoard is NOT THE SAME email you used to register your child with RPS and you have had to request PTBoard support to access your student's class assignment, PLEASE do the following:

  1. Fill out this change request form.
  2. Email the completed form  (stalley3@rvaschools.net) or drop off to the Mary Munford office to have your RPS record updated. If you do not make the change with RPS (through Ms. Talley) this will happen again next year. And the year after that.

You will always be able to edit your information throughout the school year. The PTBoard student directory will always display the most up-to-date information provided by parents. But please note, if you have permanent changes to your contact information, you will also need to update RPS via the Mary Munford office as referenced above.    


COMMUNICATING WITH MEMBERS OF YOUR CLASS OR GROUP: 

  • Send individual messages to members of any class/group you belong to through the Message Center. The Message Center can be found by clicking your name in the upper right corner of the PTBoard website and choosing "My Messages." 
  • When you click "Compose," you will see a form with dropdown menus that allow you to choose the correct class/group, then individual, you'd like to message.
  • You can only send a message to one person at a time; you cannot send a message to the entire group. Messages will be sent through PTBoard to the recipient's email address; replies will be sent directly to your email inbox.
  • You can also view a history of your sent/received messages in the Message Center.

If you are using a different email address to log into PTBoard than the one you originally provided to RPS when registering your child for school then you may not be properly connected. Each year, we cross-check the RPS-provided data with last year’s directory listings to try to update as many outdated emails as possible, but we aren’t always able to discern which address to use. As you contact us, we’ll add you to the correct class, but you will need to update your information with RPS to avoid this issue in the future.

Why can't I view the Student Directory?

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO VIEW ANY STUDENTS OTHER THAN YOUR OWN UNTIL THE DIRECTORY IS PUBLISHED IN MID TO LATE SEPTEMBER. This allows all families time to review and update their personal information and opt in/out of the directory. 

To see the listing(s) for your student(s), go to "Student Directory" and click on the "My Student" tab. Please review the listing(s) and make any additions, changes, or deletions, so that everything is accurate when the directory goes live.


How can I see who is in my child's class? 

You can view classmates (names only) by clicking into your class assignment and scrolling down to the section labeled "Documents" where you will find a PDF of the class roster. Once the school directory is published in September, you will be able to view students by class, including contact information. 

You can send messages to families in your class via your PTBoard Message Center (click on your name in the upper right corner and you'll see "My Messages" under the dropdown menu).


STILL NEED HELP?

If you do not see your student's teacher listed under “Class & Group” and you've already logged out and back in, it is either because RPS does not have an email address for you OR because the one listed as primary with RPS does not match the email address you use for PTBoard. In this case, you may have gotten an invitation email from PTBoard to register a different email address -- please don't register an email address you do not intend to use for PTBoard communications. Instead, use the contact admin button on the PTBoard Homepage, and we'll do our best to get you set up.
